Tree Removal in Marmion

Today Property Care Guys did Tree Removal in Marmion, North of Perth

New Norfolk Pines can become quite tall. Medium size being too high for the likes of this customer, requesting removal of several trees. This one was in a confined space between the house, a fence and paving and their garden. First the tree is climbed gradually pruning each branch with an arborist chainsaw, removing from the bottom up. Once at the top, the trunk was then systematically cut into pieces and lowered with rope onto the ground. We then put everything through a mulcher and took away the wood chips for recycling.

Tree Storm Damage in Yokine

Today the Property Care Guys cleaned up Tree Storm Damage in Yokine, North of Perth

The weather in Perth has caused a great deal of damage to trees, homes, fences and rooves around the Perth area this week in 2016. We have been called to several jobs where large branches have been brown off trees. Luckily causing no other damage. Other jobs have been Colourbond and Hardi Fencing blown over, Roof Eves rippped off and even a brick wall blown over. Have your trees cleaned up, building and landscaping done properly to help prevent this happening rather than wait until damage is done.

Instant Lawn & Garden Kerbing

unnamed (2)The Property Care Guys can install instant garden kerbing

garden-kerbing-perth

This instant lawn and garden kerbing is becoming popular as it is made out of concrete and has very few visible joins. The machine creates a moulded continuous kerb made on site.

We first prepare the ground as a compact and level surface. This kerbing is the ideal way to make an edging of any kind around your garden to keep soil and mulch off lawn areas, and perfect as an edge for whipper snipping around your lawns. Much better than the reasonably good concrete pieces you can buy though which will have unsightly joins because ours are made on site specifically unique to suit your personal garden areas so you can have any shape. And of course much better than any of the rolls of instant edging kits from a hardware store like the plastic bands with pegs or the rolls of pine posts wired together. These are unstable and will always move about and deteriorate over time or get squashed and just don’t even look great, whereas a solid concrete kerb will stay where it is made and last a lot longer, even as long as your house.

Our concrete garden edging can be done in standard grey, or any colour of choice! Contact us for a free quotation on landscaping, including concrete kerb.

Garden Maintenance in Mount Hawthorn

Yesterday Property Care Guys did garden maintenance in Mount Hawthorn, North of Perth City

Our Real Estate client requested we do an urgent gardening cleanup and some tree pruning before the tenants moved in the next day. So that’s what we did. We pruned back the main trees which were touching electrical power lines leading to the house as per a Western Power notice. We trimmed the Umbrella Tree in a fashion so that the new growth would spread outwards, rather than up, to help prevent this happening again. The lawns were first whipper snipped as they were knee height at least; then mowed. The place was a jungle. We then weeded out the garden beds and removed the green tree waste from the property.

We didn’t prune the bushes as this wasn’t requested, nor was there time with zero days notice, but presentable enough for tenants to move in. They should leave it reasonable like this when they decide to move out.

Fill out our online booking for a garden cleanup trial at just $48.50 per hour valid for all of 2016 when mentioning this page.

Note we do everything in property care such as reticulation, landscaping and hardscaping work big and small.

Palm Tree Trimming in Karrinyup

Today Property Care Guys did Date Palm Tree Trimming in Karrinyup, North West of Perth City

Though not the nicest name one could think of, a nickname for this is method of tree trimming is “Tiger Skinning” this professional pruning technique of removing palm fronds gives a kind of pineapple look. Some contractors will just prune the branches off near the trunk leaving bits sticking out everywhere, whereas we focus on presentation with the same amount of cuts to the branch (technically a frond or leaf) and it doesn’t take much longer. This is done with a proper Arborist chainsaw at the base of the frond and is quite visually appealing, especially on Date Palm Trees.

We mulched the fronds back into the customers garden which is a very wise thing to do – Free mulch and no charge for removal is like being paid for that part of the job!

Yes we do any tree and garden work as one of our many property maintenance services. Please see the main page.

Reticulation Repair in Thornlie

Today Property Care Guys did reticulation repair in Thornlie, South East from Perth

Our customer reported a “leak” near a sprinkler valve. The job turned out to be a little bigger and we ended up replacing two whole solenoid valves with new ones including the Master valve and a station valve. One was in a tight spot requiring extra digging to make room for moving of the pipe. It is a great idea to avoid this when installing reticulation systems by selecting a clear area for components and then keep a record of where they are on a map. To avoid problems in the future replacing parts, leave plenty of room between a valve and a PVC join such as a PVC Tee piece or an elbow whether it is a 45 degree or 90 degree. Same goes for copper pipe or Poly pipe, though a bit more flexible. You want to have enough space to accommodate a PVC slip-fix or a compression fitting for future retic repairs.

Gardening in Tuart Hill

Today the Property Care Guys did Gardening in Tuart Hill, North of Perth

We cut down a large bamboo palm and poisoned the stump. To do this you make a few chainsaw cuts, then poison with diesel fuel or pure weed killer. We pruned back an olive tree to the fence line. We then removed a pesky Ivy which was trying to take over everything including the hardi fence (tearing it to bits) and did a general garden tidy up on the garden beds, weeds in paving and shrubs.

Reticulation Repair in Karrinyup

Today the Property Care Guys did reticulation repair in Karrinyup, North Wast of Perth

Our Real Estate Agent asked for a quote to repair the retic system which appeared quite extensive. We had the go ahead and spent the day there locating solenoid valves and wiring issues and fixing sprinklers. We found several buried valves with the electro-magnetic locator machine and 3 wire breaks causing 2 stations to malfunction. One station’s valve was also blocked with tree roots which had somehow snuck in a join which wasn’t glued! Then the shocker- the poly pipe ran underneath the driveway and was completely blocked with roots also! We had to remove the paving accross the driveway, remove the pipe and install a conduit and ran a new poly pipe inside this. So most of the job was digging and sorting problems around tree roots. Not the most pleasurable work. The rest was raising risers above plants, replacing popup sprinklers and spray heads, flushing stations and general reinstating and repairs of front and back. We ran a new cable inside conduit for one valve which was broken due to tree roots forcing the wiring until it snapped.

Tree Surgery in Subiaco

Yesterday the Property Care Guys did Tree Surgery in Subiaco, near Perth

Our customer’s Cape Lilac tree had grown too tall for their liking “got out of hand”. Rather than simply pruning randomly with the chainsaw we “Pollarded” it. Pollarding develops a knob at the branch’s end off which a canopy develops. Now this tree will have a lower height canopy when it grows back from epicormic shoots, making it more manageable in future.

Cape Lilac is also known as chinaberry tree, bead tree, syringa, white cedar and is native to Australia. The scientific name is Melia azedarach. They can grow over 100 feet tall.

Reticulation Repair in Scarborough

This afternoon the Property Care Guys did Reticulation Repairs in Scarborough, West of Perth

We have the most sophisticated solenoid valve locating devices and find them all the time so it has become a specialty service of ours. Today I (Matt) went to a job in Scarborough to fix retic and found myself (as I often do).. finding valves in some pretty terrible places. The Rainbird Master valve was near a wall which oddly won’t open even manually (fairly rare – unless the pipe is crushed under the wall somewhere) needs replacing. Station #1 and station #2 were found under some nice neat brick paving and the worst one station #3.. right next to a tree with the pipe going into the trunk!

The customer reported a couple of previous reticulation technicians couldn’t repair this job. She used to turn on the electronic control timer then manually turn on the master valve by turning the solenoid. It had also a new controller installed. But now nothing works. I found the wiring to station #3 and also the Master wire dangling off. I located cut Master wiring near the wall also. Have to return to this one to replace the Master valve and go from there.

We cover pretty much all property maintenance work. If we don’t do it, we have a mate who can!
