A part time Retic repair man called me for help with solenoid valve finding at a home having major landscape works done. He had found one with a cheap gizmo but not the suspected failed master valve or wiring, whichever was the problem. Less than 3 hours later I had discovered a total of 6 more valves including the master. They were each at separate stations all over the large property. I then powered the master valve up manually which let the system flow. A break in the wiring was detected and fixed and job done.
We can usually find and repair or replace solenoid valves and typically on average costs around $200-$250 including a new solenoid and valve. Each consecutive valve thereafter is much cheaper to locate and repair. If no valves are found, the price will be just charged at a normal technician hourly charge but this is quite rare. If there a station has more than one valve, this also reduces the cost.
